The plant will have a total power of 300 kilowatts and 3,000 square meters of photovoltaic receivers.

Conseller of Commerce, Industry and Energy of the Islas Balears, in Spain, José Juan Cardona, signed, the past month of January, with the mayor of the City council of the locality native of ibiza of Santa Eulària, Vicent Guasch, and the chief of a main directorate of the electrical Gesa ENDESA, Jaume Reguart, the first agreement for the creation of the first plant of located photovoltaic solar energy in public ground.

The autonomic Executive anticipates that this plant will contribute to reduce up to 400 tons annual of CO2, and a total of 12,000 in the 30 anticipated years of life of the installation, a pioneering initiative in the Islands that energy to near 150 families assigned to the mains will provide as well as to the dependent centers of the different Administrations.

The operation will be the responsibility of the electrical, that will carry out the project of installation and management, with an anticipated investment of 1.8 million euros. The City council, on the other hand, will authorize the temporary use of lands until year 2025, whereas the Conselleria advises to the Consistorio with respect to the technical aspects and of spreading of the project.

The plant will have a total power of 300 kilowatts and 3,000 square meters of photovoltaic receivers. Its objective will be to provide electrical energy coming from the photovoltaic silicon panels, who turn the solar radiation electricity that later will be provided to the network. The considered production of the power station will be of 425,000 kWh/year, reason why the branch will amortize its investment in 10 years.

On the other hand, the chief of a main directorate of Energy of the Govern, Jaume Sureda, announcement that first of the plants will begin to work before the summer. In addition, these infrastructures will be qualified in order that they have a “visual impact under” so that “they are not visible from the outside thanks to the disposition of vegetal barriers”.

The facilities also will have an educative function since in this land of 10,000 square meters a center of environmental education will be qualified directed to spread the advantages of this type of energy.
